wig making

How can I make a wig with a part starting with loose mohair?

This question comes in often:   Doll makers will see lovely mohair and order ,but there are so few books out there to tell you how to make a wig that
when the mohair arrives panic sets in .

This is one of the the ways I do it if I am not using weft (when doing an applied wig also called glued wig)

here are the basic instructions for how I do small glued wigs , There are many ways to wig a doll, and no correct way for all dolls . This works well for the small all bisque dolls and doll house size dolls . It takes some practice to get used to working on the smallest dolls . I will try to get more pictures in soon to make it easier to understand

These are some wig making pages I have found on the web
each link is written from that authors view point, so you will notice we do not all work the same way.

None is really complete as far as how to work with mohair but they will help to get you going.

I always advise buy some extra it takes practice to get used to washing, combing, dyeing and making wigs from mohair
